Sonakshi, who was last seen opposite South megastar Rajinikanth in Lingaa, will be next seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in Amit Sharma's directorial debut Tevar.

Sonakshi had made her Bollywood debut opposite superstar Salman Khan in Dabangg.

The actress would have ideally liked to do both films, but a clash of dates meant that she had to pick between them instead. She’s opted for the Ishqiya director’s movie Udta Punjab, which focuses on the rampant use of drugs in North India.

Udta Punjab will also feature Shahid Kapoor, and begins filming in February. Don’t be surprised if Shraddha Kapoor bags Rock On!! 2 in her stead.

Before you wonder, let me tell you that the Jackky Bhagnani starrer has been sent as an independent entry. India’s official entry Liar’s Dice is out of the race for Best Foreign Language film after it failed to make the short-list, but Youngistaan is hoping for an independent nomination as Best Film. Vidya Balan’s Hamari Adhuri Kahani with Emraan Hashmi!

Vidya Balan is presently hard at work on Hamari Adhuri Kahani directed by Mohit Suri. The romantic drama also stars Emraan Hashmi, and Rajkummar Rao. Written by Mahesh Bhatt, supposedly based on real life, the movie is set to release in June next year.

It seems that it was Vidya and only Vidya for the starring role in the movie tells director Mohit Suri and star Emraan Hashmi. In fact, we heard that the Mr. Bhatt wrote the role with her in mind and he to say the movie would only be done with her in the lead role.

Talking about the movie in a previously interview, Vidya told, “All I can say is that it is an intense love story and I haven’t done a love story after Parineeta.”

Emraan Hashmi was actually not so sure about doing the movie: he said journalists, “It’s a very interesting film. It’s my first out-and-out love story. I haven’t played such a character. It is a space I was a bit cautious to experiment with till I heard the script from Mahesh Bhatt.”

In the end, he determined to give it the green light and tells, “It is a very heartfelt and touching story.”

It seems that Rajkummar Rao’s part is just a special appearance but nevertheless it was a very challenging one, “I am doing a special appearance in the film. Bhatt sir (Mahesh Bhatt) really wanted me to play this part and I love him too much, can’t say ‘no’ to him. It’s a really challenging part for me, so that’s also the reason I thought I should do this special appearance because it’s going to challenge me as an actor.”

Mohit Suri has revealed a bit about the story telling, “The best love stories are never the complete ones. That’s Humari Adhuri Kahani.”

Mahesh Bhatt agreed and before the start of the shoot in October posted, “Humari Adhuri Kahani …Real Love Stories Never Have Endings. This film which has flowered from our hearts will live forever!”

My wife Neha did not object to my gay character: Manoj Bajpayee

The fertile actor’s wife, Neha is undeterred about him playing a gay professor for the first time in Hansal Mehta’s next.

Manoj Bajpayee struggled to carve a niche for himself in Bollywood by playing unforgettable roles on screen, be it Bhiku Mhatre (Satya) that made him a household name or the latest CBI Officer Wasim Khan (Special 26). The resourceful actor is known to pull off any role with great aplomb. Considering that, Manoj is all set to push the envelope and challenge himself by playing a gay professor in Hansal Mehta’s (Citylights director) next untitled, something which he hasn’t attempted on screen before.

“Every character is challenging. But the gay character that I play in Hansal’s film is not going to be stereotypical. It’s about his life and what all he has to go through. The man is just an object. We will be giving our own interpretation to it. I’m learning Marathi for the character because he belongs to Maharashtra,” reveals Manoj.

On asking whether his actor-wife Neha had any reservation about the role, Manoj says, “She didn’t object to it,” adding, “We are very democratic in nature and are non-judgemental. We try to be very fair when it comes to analyzing the society.”

Will Manoj’s fans accept him in a gay avatar? “They will,” tells Manoj self-assuredly, “My fans made me survive 21 years in Mumbai. So they exactly know what to expect from Manoj Bajpayee.”

Rajkumar Hirani’s clue for PK’s sequel?

The scandalous entry of Ranbir Kapoor in the climax sequence certainly gives us a hint about Rajkumar Hirani really thinking about making a sequel of PK. As per to some industry insiders, the eccentric filmmaker has already determined to make the sequel and will start work on it once he finishes shooting Sanjay Dutt’s biopic and third part of Munnabhai series.

While talking to BC, Hirani explains. “There’s one idea but if we could develop it further and if it turns out to be good then we will do it.” On casting Ranbir, Hirani jokes, “Ranbir looks like an alien like Aamir. So it made sense to cast him.”

Considering the fact that Raju is already occupied with two big movies – Sanjay Dutt’s biopic and Munnabhai part III, we wonder when will he start writing PK sequel. But we hope the two talented persons – Aamir and Hirani join hands soon!

Sonam and Arjun will definitely not be paired as lovers: Sanjay Kapoor

Actor Sanjay Kapoor has turned a new leaf in his life. His first movie as a producer, Tevar, featuring his nephew Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Manoj Bajpayee is considered as the first big release of 2015.

Unluckily, Sanjay failed to make his mark as an actor like brother Anil Kapoor, but that doesn’t bother him, as he believes the young generation of Kapoors’ – nephew Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Harshwardhan Kapoor (Anil Kapoor’s children) and Mohit Marwah (son of Boney Kapoor’s sister Reema and Sandeep Marwah) are capable enough to take the legacy of their highly regarded Kapoor family ahead.

Ask him alike Arjun, is he contemplating to make a movie featuring the other talented young Kapoors, to which he tells, “Sonam and Arjun will definitely not be paired because they are brother-sister. The same goes with Harshwardhan and Mohit.”

“If there’s a script wherein they could fit as characters then why not? But definitely they cannot be paired as lovers. We have never planned things like that. That’s why Anil and I have never done any film together. We will never plan it like that. If I have to make a film featuring all Kapoors then I’ll have to make Amar Akbar Anthony,” adds the actor-producer.

As an actor, Sanjay will be next seen in Vikas Bahl’s Shaandar featuring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

Sanjay Dutt gets 14-day vacation!

Sanjay Dutt, who is at the moment serving his prison sentence in Yerawada Jail, Pune, has applied for a 14 day furlough (a little break from the term) which he’s been approved. And this leave can also be extended by a couple more weeks if he wishes it. Sanjay Dutt will now be out of jail in a couple of days after the formalities are all accomplished.

The last time that Sanjay Dutt got a furlough was in the year 2013 through the months of October and January which then got extended by a month when he had issues with his health. Furlough is an annual leave that prisoners usually get granted with, so they can connect with their family and get a remission of sorts from their sentence.

There were protests against how the court was being partially favorable with Sanjay Dutt’s sentence after his furlough got extended for really long periods of time last year. Here’s hoping that he has a nice time-out-of-jail this year, now that he’s also riding high on PK’s great success.

Arjun Kapoor’s selfies act with Agra-based residents for avoiding any shoot disruption!

Arjun Kapoor’s opening scene in papa Boney Kapoor’s Tevar was shot in Agra, mainly at Taj Ganj. The sequence has Arjun roof-topping in the crowded by-lanes of Taj Ganj. As we all know how hard it gets while shooting with stars at real locations. Considering that and to avoid pointless rush of movie buffs at the location, Arjun hatched out a plan that worked well in his favour.

Arjun says, “A few days before we started shooting at the actual, crowded by-lanes of Agra, I decided to meet people, interact with them and click photographs (read selfies!) instead of them thronging the shoot locations and create problems,” elaborating, “They were so happy. Doing so, they co-operated with us and were kind enough to allow us to shoot chase sequences at the roof-tops of their homes.”

Tevar Music Review: Songs like Superman, Radha Nachegi and Joganiya are tuneful and lively.

Tevar Music Review: Songs like Superman, Radha Nachegi and Joganiya are tuneful and lively.

Release Date : 09 January 2015
Genre : Action | Comedy
Banner : Sanjay Kapoor Entertainment , Eros International
Producer : Sanjay Kapoor , Sunil Lulla , Naresh Aggarwal , Sunil Manchanda
Director : Amit Sharma
Cast : Arjun Kapoor , Sonakshi Sinha , Manoj Bajpayee , Kader Khan , Shruti Haasan
Music Director : Sajid Ali , Wajid Ali Lyricist : Kausar Munir

Telugu megastar Mahesh Babu's Okkadu gets a Hindi version with 2 States star, Arjun Kapoor taking over the responsibility in Tevar produced by his father and uncle (Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor). In this high voltage action movie includes stars as Sonakshi Sinha and Manoj Bajpayee. With the promos by now creating quite a stir, the soundtrack has also created the curiosity of the audience. Composers Sajid-Wajid known for their commercial and lively compositions have been roped in for this movie and therefore one can definitely expect a mass-friendly soundtrack here.

The album begins with Superman. It is the last tribute by a self-confessed fan (Arjun Kapoor) to his bollywood idol (Salman Khan)! The fact is that this track has been composed by another Salman devotee, Sajid-Wajid. In fact, getting Wajid to go behind the mike is a stroke of genius in itself particularly so because Wajid's voice seems to suit Arjun to a tee. The composition itself is pretty lively and memorable and Wajid's singing serves to only highlight it further while Sajid, Kausar Munir and Danish Sabri show their vital devotion to Salman with their words. With its lively and rhythmic beats already making it dance-worthy, the remix version is sure to pull you into the dance floor!

The next song is Radha Nachegi which gives you an impression of a classical number. In fact, this is a wonderful cocktail of western and Indian sounds with the kind of spunk needed for a movie in this genre. Billed as Sonakshi's introduction number, Radha Nachegi has the lively voice of Ritu Pathak who manages the classical and western twists outstandingly well to give the listener a marvelous dance number. Kausar Munir's lyrics are quite modern and fit in the setting though there is sure to be some criticism about the wisdom of using words like 'Radha Nachegi' and 'music bajega loud' in the same line.

The next song is Dutch-Pakistani Singer’s debut in Bollywood with Lets Celebrate and unluckily it is not exactly a brilliant one. With a high amount of EDM and techno beats managing to drown out the Punjabi-hindi-english lyrical cocktail (Imran Khan), the only words one might end up clearly hearing is Lets Celebrate! Sonakshi Sinha has also been credited as Imran's co-singer but honestly it is quite difficult to hear her vocals due to background music.

The next one is Joganiya track with its rock-led arrangement metamorphosing into an intense, romantic yet melancholic song. Shruti Haasan manages to spring a surprise with her influential vocals managing to convey the intensity of the emotions inherent in this ditty. Sajid-Wajid's fondness for grandeur is visible in the track's mood shift from melancholic to haunting to full-on passion. Kausar Munir's lyrics are bang on and fit well with the mood of the song.

The next one is the mandatory 'item number' Madamiyan with Mika Singh and Mamta Sharma. The composition is loud, crass and utterly predictable and at best is a poor man's Munni Badnaam. Sajid-Wajid reuses their usual 'item number' sounds for this entirely avoidable track written yet again by Kausar Munir.

The last track is a soulful romantic melody in this album; Shafqat Amanat Ali is here with Main Nai Jaana Pardes. The opening notes of this track transports you literally into musical heaven but the follow-up is not fairly convincing, though melodious nevertheless. Also, the pace is a tad too slow which can get weary.

The songs for Tevar are a blend of all the fast paced numbers like Superman, Madamiyan and Radha Nachegi and is OK.

In general, the soundtrack of Tevar is quite an assorted bag and songs like Superman, Radha Nachegi and Joganiya are tuneful and lively.
