Looks like Azad was on his way back from the school holding his mother’s hand. The Perfectionist Khan’s two-year-old toddler spotted white cricket uniform and appeared to be quite tired as his mom dragged him from the parking area to his home.

Last year Azad Rao Khan was spotted playing football with his father Aamir Khan, looks like the father and son are both alike both are diehard fans of sports whether it will be football or it will be cricket.

The known Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s debut movie MSG: The Messenger is atypically releasing on the eve of Valentine’s Day. And Rockstar Baba as the Ram Rahim is generally known does have a message for all young lovers.

So if you are just friends, there is nothing to lose and you will lead a tension-free life. So I believe there should be limitations and boundaries drawn in friendship.”

Ram Rahim also thinks of India’s culture as the number one in the world. “We have the world’s number one culture. When we are small, our parents take care of us and when we grow up we take care of them like they are our kids. That’s our culture.”

Badlapur Music Review: All songs are harmonious and pleasant according film theme.

Badlapur: All songs are harmonious and pleasant according film theme.

Release Date: 20 February 2015
Genre: Drama | Social
Banner: Maddock Films, Eros International
Producer: Dinesh Vijan , Sunil Lulla
Director: Sriram Raghavan
Cast: Varun Dhawan , Yaami Gautam , Huma Qureshi , Nawazuddin Siddiqui , Vinay Pathak
Music Director: Sachin, Jigar

After a unsuccessful outing with Saif Ali Khan in Agent Vinod, Director Sriram Raghavan has returned to wield the megaphone for Badlapur which is being produced by Saif’s partner, Dinesh Vijan, who has incidentally also debuted as a lyricist with this movie! Headlining the star cast for this vengeance drama is Karan Johar’s pupil, Varun Dhawan along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi, Yaami Gautam and Divya Dutta.

Music for an action drama movie such as this is not essentially integral to the screenplay. Rather the songs generally play the role of a filler/ breather in such movies. Consequently, it is all the more significant for music composers Sachin-Jigar to come up with a soundtrack that can make a mark in this dark thriller. Lyrical credits for this short album (consisting of just 3 songs) have been shared by Priya Saraiya and Dinesh Vijan.

The album opens with Jee Karda and what a stunner it is! While Sachin-Jigar score with the composition, Divya Kumar’s overwhelming vocals stay with you long after the song gets over. The young composers make best use of the shehnai and guitars to make a superb fusion cocktail which enthralls you! The opening lines might deceive you into thinking that it is yet another Bhangra pop number but once the guitars take over, you realize that you are in for a rare and amazing Punjabi rock number. While the original itself is mind-blowing, the Rock version rocks you even more with the pleasant Harmonium brought into the mix.

The next one is Jeena Jeena song with Atif Aslam. A beauty of a composition, this track is for all the romantics out there and Atif sings with such passion that one cannot help but fall in love with this soft and sweet tune. Sachin-Jigar score with this simple yet heart-warming composition which, depending on the box-office success of the movie, has the potential to turn out to be among the most romantic songs of 2015. The Remix of this track though is alright but needless as the peace and tranquility exuded by the original version is totally lost in its remixed version.

The next one Judaai is an experimentation which might not find favor with everybody. That the better half of Director Vishal Bhardwaj has unique but impactful vocals is widely acknowledged but the way Sachin-Jigar have used Rekha Bhardwaj’s vocals takes you totally by surprise. Arijit provides the perfect foil to Rekha’s deep and throaty vocals and together they manage to create a dreamy feel to this poignant yet soulful track.

Overall, the soundtrack of Badlapur is very good as per film theme. Sachin-Jigar who had a mixed 2014 have come out with all guns blazing to have an excellent and thunderous start to 2015 with this album.

Aamir Khan slams Karan, Arjun and Ranveer for Controversial show AIB Roast!

Well, a big name from the industry has spoken against AIB Roast. Aamir Khan chose to throw diplomacy out of the window and expressed his bold and candid opinion on the controversial AIB Roast that has seen a fury of backlash from different sections of the society. At the very beginning, Aamir made it clear that he didn’t like AIB Roast one bit. He even disclosed that he scolded Karan Johar and Arjun Kapoor for participating and feeling proud about AIB roast and the abuses traded on the show.

Aamirn told, “I have not yet seen that Roast but I’ve heard about it. I have seen just two to three clips. And when the Roast happened, I was at a place where Karan and Arjun came and told us that we did this Roast. They told us all the dialogues that were exchanged. I was deeply affected by that and most disappointed in what I was hearing. I completely believe in freedom of speech. No issues but we should understand that we have a certain responsibility.”

Conveying his deep agony at such a show and calling it a violent one, Aamir told, “When I heard what was being described to me, I felt it was a very violent event. There was a lot of violence in that event. Violence is not just physical; it is also verbal, emotional and mental. When you insult someone, you are perpetuating violence. You are doing a violent thing and you are telling the world that, ‘See I am so violent.’ I don’t like these things. I don’t like to show violence whether it is physical or otherwise and then say take great pride in it. I am sure there many youngsters who have liked the show and all of us have different opinion and are allowed to have a different opinion. And I will give you mine.”

Explaining further on why he found the show offensive, the megastar actor told, “I didn’t like it because it was a violent show. Karan and Arjun are my friends and I scolded them. I told them I am not finding this funny. 25 gaalli deke aap sochte ho ki main impress ho jaaunga. Gaaliyon se impress hone ki meri umar nikal chuki hai. I am not a 14-year old kid who will laugh after hearing an abusive word. I am not impressed by bad language. If you want to make me laugh, then do so without hurting anyone else.”

Shahid Kapoor’s nod for Hindi remake of Magadheera!

Shahid Kapoor, who has given his nod to playing the lead role in the Bollywood remake of South epic Magadheera, is too thrilled about the project, claim sources close to the actor.

The reason-ever since he was a kid, Shahid was fascinated with stories of sword-wielding combatants on horses, who fight to rescue princesses and Shahid is finally getting to do it on the silver screen. Not only this, Shahid, who had gone for a buzz cut for his last movie Haider, will finally get to grow it long.

The original movie had south star Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles.

Shamitabh is admirable to watch once for its story idea, the quality of the performances and its technical brilliance.

A long, scrawny, voice-less aspiring actor rides piggyback on a hypnotic, heavy baritone to super success in Bollywood: the premise of ‘Shamitabh’ is delightful on many levels.

A peculiar idea that has several memorable moments with dollops of originality thrown in, Shamitabh oscillates from being super fun to overemotional. As long as there are smile through moments, courtesy the game of one supremacy between Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush, Shamitabh brings in chuckles abundant. But, the places where emotions start running high and full-on drama is thrown in, Shamitabh ends up taking a different route altogether. Now if only Balki would have kept is as a mainly happy movie with laughs thrown in for good amount, Shamitabh would have been much bigger and pleasant than what it turns out to be.

An aged, mealy-mouthed, self-destructive alcoholic Amitabh Sinha (Bachchan) is a spent force, having been thwarted four decades ago in a bid to make it as a movie actor.
His rich baritone is the man’s only belonging that counts for anything and he still revels in mouthing lines from Mughal-e-Azam.

A young wannabe actor Danish (Dhanush) is the exact opposite. He is full of passion and ambition and wants to see his name up on the movie posters.

But he, too, suffers from an impediment. He does not have a voice – his vocal chord is paralyzed. But his dreams are unstoppable.

An enterprising and sympathetic assistant director Akshara (Akshara Haasan) gets the two men to collaborate. Danish gets a voice processor, and Amitabh gives words to his thoughts. As the Voice and the Face combine, a star is born.

The movie is pleasurable for a good part though, both in the first and the second part. One may find Dhanush's rise to fame a little too rapid. In fact it seems practically fantastical in the way it is narrated. But, Balki was perhaps making a statement on the current state of affairs where a '65 crore opening weekend' can raise a rank newcomer to become a darling of the masses and the media.

Well, Big B and Dhanush are creatively intermingled into the story of 'voice meets body' plot of Shamitabh, hence bringing in quite a few interesting episodes in the lives of '43% whiskey and 57% water'. Though it is a different matter that the character played by Amitabh Bachchan thinks otherwise but the ego between the voice and the body has its own complications set. Now whenever it is all light hearted, you do go with the flow.

This is when you miss Akshara who is really the most natural actor between the theatrics of Big B and melodrama of Dhanush. She makes a delightful impression right through the course of the movie and plays an Assistant Director to the T. Her dialogue delivery is unique. Akshara Haasan, in her debut, holds her own with an air of confidence that bodes well for the future.

On his part, Amitabh Bachchan is wonderful indeed, particularly when he demonstrates it all through his voice. But, his many solo scenes in the graveyard or otherwise (and trust me, there are many) start seeming repetitive after a while. While you are also reminded of his act in The Last Lear here, it is also seeming that Balki is in love with the man and is enjoying his fan boy moment by making Big B perform just for his eye.

In the meantime Dhanush showcases yet again, after Raanjhanaa, that what a good actor he is when it comes to internalizing the emotions of his character and then bringing them out in equal measure for screen. Just for his scene in the pre-climax where he delivers a monologue on 'paanch sach', Shamitabh is worth a watch.

As a matter of fact, the movie could well have been an even better watch had it ended right after this mighty powerful and meaningful scene. But, Balki decides to pick for an altogether different ending and extends the movie by 10-15 minutes.

But, all of that is forgotten for that priceless expression on Rekha's face when she interacts with Amitabh Bachchan. Now it is nuggets of brilliance like these that guarantee that you remember Shamitabh for all the smiles it brought in.

Shamitabh is embellished with great music (Ilaiyaraaja), some exceptional camerawork (P C Sreeram) and many remarkably skilful directorial touches.

‘Shamitabh’ had the potential to use satire and knowingness and a self-awareness, and the presence of the most strong star in Bollywood whose velvet-and-iron rumble has become part of the national soundtrack, to give us a remarkable tale of ego and identity, rejection and acceptance, success and failure. There are a few moments which sparkle, and we laugh in acknowledgement.

While Bachchan is indeed the selling point of the movie, Shamitabh might have benefitted had Balki gone a little easier on his fascination with the ageless megastar.

Generally, Shamitabh is admirable to watch once for its story idea, the quality of the performances and its technical brilliance.
